This comprehensive course navigates the complete research journey, equipping participants with advanced tools and strategies. From navigating databases to identifying reputable sources and avoiding predatory journals, sessions cover referencing styles, software like Zotero, and plagiarism detection tools. Participants delve into crafting research proposals, literature reviews, methodologies, and data collection techniques, including hands on sessions using Google Forms and KoBo Toolbox.
Statistical analysis is taught entirely through the R programming language. Two dedicated basic statistics sessions open the statistics track, building the conceptual foundation before participants move into R. The R sessions then cover programming essentials, data wrangling, descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing (T test, ANOVA, Chi Square, correlation), regression, and survival analysis through R’s publication ready ecosystem (gtsummary and ggplot2). This integrated approach replaces the older SPSS track and equips students with a fully reproducible analysis workflow. The course also covers qualitative analysis using NVivo 12, systematic reviews, manuscript writing, and submission strategies for publication.
